Mason Jar Magic - Holiday Special

I love Mason jars and I love getting them filled with yummy things to eat and drink so I thought I'd post a few of my favorite Mason jar presents from around the web.

How about some Hot Chocolate along with some great toppings. Sure to warm you up on those cold winter nights. 

I couldn't resist this one given the play on words. It's a great idea to thank your guests for coming over and saying hello and it's a low cal snack to boot! 

Is there any better kid pleaser than a Mason jar filled with cookies and topped with a Dinosaur?

Blue Mason Jars + Beautiful Blooms

I am a big fan of Mason jars, as I'm sure you've noticed by all the posts I've done, but these blue ones really caught my eye. I am totally loving the way the flowers look in them. I generally like flowers in clear vases or bottles but the blue jars seems to add a bit of punch to the bouquet that I wasn't expecting. It's almost as if the sky has been added. The beauty of these jars is that you can be as fancy as you please or as simple as can be. Doesn't matter which way you go, the bouquets are all beautiful. If you are lucky enough to find some vintage blue ones I would highly recommend that you snap them up. If not you can order new ones here.

DIY: Mason Jar Oil Candles for Christmas

I took one look at these and had to post the DIY! I can't wait to make them - what a great idea for a Christmas decoration. Here's the how to:

You will need:
One 1/8 "Nipple" (available in the Lighting Section of Home Depot or Lowes)
Two 1/8 Couplings (also in Lighting)
Two 3/8 Washers
100% Cotton Lamp Wicks
Your Choice of Oil: Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Peanut Oil, Lamp Oil, Liquid Paraffin Oil
Mason Jar and Lid
Decorative Elements (Optional): Pine Cones, Shells, Coffee Beans, Stones, Vanilla Beans, Herbs, Spices, Fruits

Instructions:
If the lid to your jar is a regular one (no hole), drill a hole using a 3/8 drill bit. 
Push the nipple through the hole.
On each side of the lid, add a washer and then a coupling.
Make sure the nipple and coupling are flush with the top of the lid.
Thread a cotton wick through the nipple; it will be loose at first, but will expand once it is soaked with oil.
If you want your candle to be decorative, add pine cones or other elements.
Add the oil to the jar.
Attach the completed lid to the jar.
Wait for the oil to soak the wick before lighting.

Mason Jar: The Kindness Project

I think that this is an absolutely smashing idea and I have already started my own jar! I can't wait till the end of the year to read all the good things that happened during 2013. So many times we dwell on the negative when there is so much positive all around us. I know that I am often guilty of this so this year my resolution is to spend more time focusing on the positive! How about you?

DIY: Mason Jar Holiday Centerpiece

I know how you all love Mason Jar DIY's so here's one for the Holidays! 

What you need:
A old wooden box,
Pine cones
Pine boughs
Plastic berries or dried fruit
Recycled or new Mason jars
Tea lights or votive candles

Instructions:
Fill your wooden box with the Mason Jars you've selected. Use any size jars but remember that they need to be higher than the actual box for them to look good.
Place a tea light or votive candle inside each Mason jar. If using a votive candle you will want to make sure to put the votive inside a glass votive holder prior to putting it into the jar or else you will have a heck of a time getting the melted wax out.
Surround the Mason jars with the pine boughs, plastic berries or dried fruit, and pine cones. Keep in mind that you will have to replace the pine boughs once they start to get dry.
Light the tea lights or votive candles. The warmth from the candles inside the jars will warm up the pine boughs and their heavenly scent will be released.

So there you have it, a beautiful Holiday centerpiece.

2. Add diamond glitter 

3. Seal the jar with a lid. 

4. Shake.
