What kind of boot girl are you?

    Are you a stiletto gal

or more of a biker babe?

Do you prefer the comfort and warmth of a Mukluk

or an UGG with some razzle dazzle?

Maybe you like them Thigh High

or with a touch of glam?

Maybe you like them elegant and practical

or sporty and waterproof?

How about short and sassy

or with lots of laces?

Or maybe you just prefer your boots plain old practical. Whatever your taste there is something for everyone.

I love boots. I have at least eight pairs. My favorite boots are tall boots, not thigh high because I'm short, but to the knee. I just added this pair to my collection on Friday so I guess that makes nine! They are water proof boots from Miss Sixty (I'm nothing if not practical!).

Wall art for kids

Whimsical and adorable are two ways to describe the wall art from Maya's studio. I fell upon them quite by accident when looking for some interesting artwork and I couldn't resist posting them.

Twinkling Trees

Trees.....they shelter us from the rain, provide shade from the Summer's sun and encompass us with their glorious energy. And if that wasn't enough they dazzle us with a color change just before Winter comes. Sometimes you can capture a moment, just when the sun is going down, where the trees seem to twinkle and come to life.

This print from Donna Geissler, aptly named "Sweet Dreams" has an ethereal quality to it that I just couldn't resist.

Fabulously French

Swirling leaves and colorful landscapes define Autumn but I often find myself feeling a little sad this time of year.  When I was a child my mother often brought home a little surprise to cheer me up. Little cakes called Petit Fours that were so sweet that they made your teeth tingle. I still remember how I would eat the cake as slowly as possible in order to make it last. Not long ago, I wandered into a French pastry shop called Duc de Lorraine and fell upon these beautiful little cakes. Naturally I had to buy one or two or three.....

Another French specialty - "les marcarons"- come in all sorts of wonderful colors to make you happy again.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do

Undecorate!

The term "UNDECORATE" was coined by Christiane Lemieux, the author of the book by the same name and the founder of DwellStudio.

Christiane's rules are simple: There are none.

So why is decorating a home so difficult?

Maybe because we are often so caught up in what works together that we miss the main point of decorating which is to create an environment that is a reflection of who we are as a person. We spend so much time styling our homes that they often just become boxes with no soul. Instead, why don't we surround ourselves with the things and pictures that have meaning to us so that we will be inspired on a daily basis.

Here are a few examples of Undecorating to get you started. All images were originally posted on websites indicated.

Hair-raising Halloween!

I love the whole idea of Halloween. I mean what other Holiday offers you such diversity! You have tombstones on lawns, smoking cauldrons in windows, blood curdling screams emitting from doorbells and costumes portraying everything from the Smurfs to Zombies. And um, one other thing - THE PUMPKIN (and candy!...don't forget the candy!!).

Ah the pumpkin....I look at these marvelous orange fruits (yes fruit, I looked it up!) and see a blank canvas just waiting to have fangs carved into it. Or, maybe a simple word like, BOO!

Did I scare you?

There are many ways of carving a pumpkin. Some do it free style, armed simply with a knife and their imagination. Others opt for a template, some of which are simply awesome. So Here is a link to Martha Stewart's website with templates for all levels. http://www.marthastewart.com/halloween-pumpkin-templates
