White and Blue Dining Room

This is exactly what I would've liked for my dining room. I love the mix of contemporary with traditional or classic. Even though it can be hard to do, this photo shows you how simple it really can be. The chandelier, scallop bowl and traditional material add just enough traditional to the contemporary mix. Everything looks great together and the traditional elements soften the hard lines of the contemporary table. Although I'm not a big fan of blue in décor I find that the blue here adds a serenity to the room that would be hard to imitate with any other color.

I'm still stuck on the black and grey bandwagon. There's just something about it that is calling me right now. I have also always wanted a big round table in my dining room but alas I keep getting houses with rectangular rooms.  So for now, I am living vicariously through my one of my clients....

I just love this dining room with its up-cycled wood table, shell pendant light and ghost chairs. Everything works so well together, it all seems so natural. Even the skateboard resting against the window fits right in.
