April,May's new Spring/Summer Collection

I have been perusing the fashion blogs of late and it seems that there is a Santa Fe/Urban Cowboy theme happening this year. Thank goodness I kept my cowboy boots!!

French label April, May has their new collection out and I thought that it warranted a little look-see. For the complete collection please click here.

Jeans that fit to a T

I live in jeans. I can't get enough of them. However, given that I am rather petite, with small hips and no waist to speak of (think rectangle), women's jeans often don't fit right. In comes 3X1

Located in Soho NY, this store specializes in jeans. Not just any jeans either. Jeans that you can custom make. You've heard of "build a bear" well this is "build your jeans". Yes you can actually build your own pair of jeans. How cool is that!

Here is the process from start to finish via photos

and here you have your finished jeans.

DIY: Satsuma candles

I light candles all the time. I light candles for mood, for warmth and for scent but generally I light them because they make me happy. Candles give off such a nice warm glow that I find them irresistible in the Winter. So when I came across this little DIY project I just had to share it with you.

All you need is a Satsuma orange, olive oil, a knife, a spoon and some matches. How easy is that!

Latest crush: Glamorous closets

I love shoes - what female doesn't? But where to put them all is a whole other story.

I have mine stacked in their original boxes with the name of the shoe on the front so that they are easy to find. Another great way of knowing what shoes are where is by putting a snapshot of the shoes on the front of the box and then stacking them. This is a more visual approach and I like it. I think I'll do that with mine when I reorganize my closet.

In the mean time, I can dream of a beautiful room filled with shoes and boots.......

.......and um....some clothes thrown in for good measure!

Blissful Bathtubs

Bathrooms have come a long way since the 50's let me tell you. Rooms that were once considered utilitarian have now taken on a life of their own. Here are a few examples of exquisite bathrooms from around the world.

This bathtub is made out of a piece of granite that has been brought back from Bali and which has been shaped into a bathtub. All the pipes have been concealed in the wooden box and if you look closely you will see that the chandelier is actually the shower head. Isn't this awesome!!

How about a silver bathtub to add some shine to your bathroom. Combine it with an antique mirror and a chandelier and you've got glamour worthy of old Hollywood.

This hammock bathtub designed by Splinter Works virtually hangs from the tiled bathroom walls. Made out of stainless steel and carbon fiber, it's superior craftsmanship enables it to hang from the tiles even with a bather and 100 liters of water. Finished in gold leaf, this one of a kind bathtub is sure to wow everyone who sees it!
